Snackbars and cookies that are delicious to eat, nutritious and filling?
Yes, it’s possible!

To accomplish this, we must research…

  • whole grains, including fruits, nuts, seeds and other high-quality natural ingredients
  • canola and sunflower oils
  • sweeteners such as fruit, fruit juices and fruit purees
  • natural flavours and colours

…and ensure that one serving ideally includes…

  • up to a combined total of 1 gram of saturated fat and trans fat
  • at least 2 grams of fibre, and
  • a maximum of 12 grams of sugar.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS LABORATORY

The art of creating high-quality products has a long history at Leclerc – it’s our tradition. But our founder probably never would have predicted that one day, his art would be fuelled by science.

In April 2012, because we aspire to become your partner in disease prevention, we inaugurated our Laboratory of Health and Wellness. This is where the R&D staff carry out their research – alongside universities and research centres – and test their ingenuity, adjusting their strategies based on the latest nutritional findings. It is here that, in the name of innovation, we successfully created trans-fats-free products long before they became popular.

The laboratory includes a test kitchen and pilot laboratory. The test kitchen houses the necessary equipment to develop our product prototypes. These prototypes are then processed through the laboratory, which houses cutting-edge equipment representative of our industrial machinery.
