Function Summary


In collaboration with Group Buyers, the Packaging Purchasing Manager, the Ingredient Purchasing Manager and the Production Planning Group, the incumbent is responsible for sourcing assigned raw materials for all plants to ensure uninterrupted supply to production lines.  He/she meets the daily requirements of the manufacturing plan and ensures that operations run smoothly.

 

Responsibilities


  • Participate (in collaboration with Quality) in setting up or improving our ingredient and packaging specifications with our suppliers, and ensure rigorous follow-up.
  • Process orders for assigned commodities.
  • Prioritize and manage supply problems in order to meet tight production schedules.
  • Support buyers in their negotiation and decision-making strategies.
  • Share strategic information related to the production plan.
  • Ensure compliance of supply with negotiated conditions.
  • Manage merchandise returns and associated credits.
  • Keep performance indicators up to date.
  • Update product and/or supplier information sheets.
  • Collaborate in the development of new sources of supply.
  • Work on process improvement based on prioritization of potential impacts.
  • Take charge of continuous improvement projects (packaging and ingredients).

Required skills and abilities


  • DEC  or equivalent AEC in related field.
  • Knowledge of the Office Suite
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is clearly an asset.
  • Good planning, management and organizational skills.
  • Good knowledgeof manufacturing processes and logistics.
  • Strong analytical skill.
  • Priority management is part of his daily routine.
  • Good communication skills.
