Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician fabricates and assembles structural metal products per job order, verbal instructions and engineering prints to ensure products meet Company quality standards. Work with engineering to improve product performance and assembly time. They must be proficient in TIG welding techniques on aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel. They are also responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets in a safe, sanitary and efficient condition. Provide support to the Operations Department by keeping equipment operating efficiently. The Technician analyzes equipment failures, determines cause(s) and makes necessary adjustments or repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all required work safe practices. This would include lock-out tag-out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines.
  • Conducts safety compliance inspections and maintains records of the equipment
  • Carry out equipment breakdowns effectively & efficiently.
  • Plan and carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to support production operations in a fast paced environment.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner to the highest quality standards.
  • Readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Weld aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel parts per engineering specifications.
  • Experience in the use of TIG Welding equipment
  • Assembles products with various welding/fabrication techniques utilizing fixtures, clamps, and measuring tools

Requirements

Technical Associate Degree or accredited apprenticeship program of the equivalent in a technical field;
Three (3) year applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Equipment knowledge, Computer experience/operation and PLC programming are necessary (Allen-Bradley preferably);
TIG welding, TIG experience, welding assembling;
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical
Knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, supervisors;
Excellent manual dexterity; Strong physical endurance; ability to lift up to 75lbs;
Ability to stand; walk; for long periods of time;
Able and willing to work 10-12hrs daily; Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed;
This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position within Leclerc Foods USA, Inc.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to lift from floor to waist 52 lbs. 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift from waist to shoulder 52 lbs 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to push/pull a maximum force of 55 lbs.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
