Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Materials or Plant Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will supervise day-to-day operations in the warehouse. S/he will plan, organize, supervise and participate in the operations and activities of the Warehouse. S/he will be responsible to assign workloads to warehouse workers. S/he will perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, supervise and participate in the operations and activities of the Warehouse;
  • Supervise loading and unloading operations;
  • Prepare shipping documentation and other related paperwork.
  • Promote, comply, actively participate and enforce the importance of safety to help maintain a safe and healthy work environment; Report all safety issues;
  • Provide leadership to others through example and knowledge sharing;
  • Involved in team members training to understand procedures for food safety, and personnel safety;
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Motivate and encourage employees to meet their individual goals;
  • Provide the warehouse team members feedback through job performance appraisals;
  • Assign workloads to warehouse workers;
  • Manage staff hours and submit to payroll.
  • Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition;
  • Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures;
  • Utilize space efficiently and effectively;
  • Monitor automated warehousing system; operate a computer to enter data, correct errors and control key screens as required;
  • Check and verify materials in warehouse periodically.
  • Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment;
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Support and help implement continuous process improvements;
  • Create and keep up to date POKA guide relatively to all warehouse operations;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma / G.E.D.;
Valid driver’s license (class 1) and have a good driving history;
Minimum three (3) years related experience in a warehouse environment (food industry is preferable); or equivalent combination of acceptable training, education and experience;
Able to operate hand tools, forklift, ladder, dolly, scissor lift, pallet jack, hand truck;
Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft office, hand-held scanners and printers; previous experience with ERP systems preferred;
Ability to direct and coordinate warehouse operations
Physically fit with ability to lift, lower, carry product up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand;
Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time; Excellent communication skills; verbal and written; Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed;
Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to work independently, and maintain a safe work environment;
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment; Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed; This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position within Leclerc Foods USA, Inc.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to lift from floor to waist 55 lbs. 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift from waist to shoulder 55 lbs 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to push/pull a maximum force of 54 lbs.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
