Position Summary

Reporting to Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control Coordinator will ensure proper function of the Quality Department including Food Safety, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and audit preparation and management.  S/he will participate in the quality control staff training to meet BRC and company requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Quality Manager in his tasks to maintain the quality programs in place.
  • Support the quality team during production quality problems and on the adjustment/optimization of quality equipment such as vision systems, X-rays, detectors.
  • Support the quality team during absences or vacations.
  • Make daily quality rounds in the plant to ensure GMP and food safety are maintained.
  • Perform monthly internal audits, corporate audits and technician audits.
  • Participate in the analysis of the monthly review and implementation of corrective actions and improvements related to it.
  • Perform monthly root cause analysis of foreign bodies in the plant.
  • Manage the Non-Conformance Reports to suppliers.
  • Perform root cause analysis of quality problems in production to eliminate quality problems.
  • Follow up, involve and support new projects/customers that affect quality.
  • Monthly follow-up of quality tasks in OneNote.
  • Assist the quality team as needed to avoid delays in tasks such as calibration of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in food science, quality, production or related field or relevant education/experience required;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the food industry;
  • Knowledge and/or direct experience with GFSI/BRC, SQF, GMP and other food safety standard including HACCP;
  • Understand and adhere to guidelines and procedures including health, safety, hygiene and sanitation;
  • Strong management, leadership, detail-oriented and organizational skills;
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills;
  • Excellent communication and technology skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and consistently changing environment;
  • Strong reasoning and troubleshooting through root cause problem solving;
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.


This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position within Leclerc Foods USA, Inc.


Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift from floor to waist 20 lbs.;
  • Regular attendance;
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time;
  • Excellent manual dexterity and physical endurance.
