Position SummaryReporting to the Maintenance Manager/supervisor, the Maintenance Technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of ManufacturingResponsibilities
  • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include but is not limited to: lock-out tag-out, PPE, confine space safety awareness, chemical safety, fall protection, etc.;
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines;
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment;
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment;
  • Make adjustment to equipment ensuring the proper performance and safe operating conditions;
  • Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting;
  • Advise operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components;
  • Document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed, aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime;
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed;
  • Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications;
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
  • Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements;
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area;
  • Support and help implement continuous process improvements;
  • Create and maintain POKA guides relative to operations;
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Technical Associate Degree or accredited apprenticeship program of the equivalent in a technical field;
  • Three (3) year applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Equipment knowledge, Computer experience/operation and PLC troubleshooting are necessary (Allen-Bradley preferably);
  • Knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, supervisors;
  • Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed;
Essential Functions:
  • Must be able to lift from floor to waist 52 lbs. 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift from waist to shoulder 52 lbs 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to push/pull a maximum force of 55 lbs.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
