Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the incumbent is responsible for sourcing the Leclerc Group's plants for the ingredient categories assigned to him/her. The main mandate of this new position in the team is to develop new sources of supply on the global market in order to secure operations and open up new partnerships. He also ensures the availability of goods in factories by managing supplier relations, contracts and purchase orders. He participates in the search for new suppliers and in the improvement of the purchasing process to ensure first-rate service from our suppliers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop new sources of supply on the world market;
  • Negotiate supply contracts;
  • Plan and process orders;
  • Manage specific issues related to raw materials sourcing;
  • Search for new sources of supply to optimize the total cost of acquisition of raw materials;
  • Monitor commodity markets by ingredient group;
  • Keep product/supplier information sheets up to date to ensure smooth operation of the manufacturing system (SAP);
  • Prepare and analyze various reports to support decision-making;
  • Keep abreast of best business practices in terms of purchasing processes;
  • All other related tasks.

     

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics option, Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, or any related specialty;
  • Three (3) years of relevant purchasing experience;
  • Ability to communicate easily and effectively in English, French (is an asset)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Good analytical skills and ability to prioritize workload;
  • Good sense of urgency;
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Good team player.
