As a management trainee, you will:

  • Receive training and growth opportunities while learning the full scope of operations under the guidance of the plant manager
  • Be an active member of the plant leadership team
  • Build and develop leadership, communication and strategic planning skills along with strong relationships that will prepare you for a future managerial role
  • Lead a frontline team, conduct operations assessments, cost/benefit analysis, lead and oversee projects and operating procedures
  • Work in a high velocity production environment
  • Have excellent career advancement opportunities

 

Position Responsibilities

 

Operations Support

  • Organizes and participates in loss prevention activities; educates employees on value-added production concepts
  • Analyzes causes of waste and recommends methods of improvement
  • Identifies and proposes the most effective tools and methods for improved operational practices
  • Plans, organizes and leads improvement programs
  • Assesses organization’s knowledge management tools, makes recommendations for improvement
  • Develops and leads training related to identified areas of need
  • Embraces, supports and leads a strong workplace safety culture

Lead improvement projects

  • Works with team to establish Continuous Improvement metrics that align with operational goals and objectives
  • Executes improvement projects related to the plant's strategic plan
  • Analyzes existing processes and identifies opportunities for improvement and development; recommends and prioritizes projects
  • Supports leadership and team members in the implementation of projects
  • Establishes measurable standards and regularly monitors progress to ensure desired outcome is achieved.
  • Facilitates, and leads workshops using a DMAIC project management approach

Qualifications

  • Holds, or will earn a technical degree within the next 12 months
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills and command of the English language
  • Demonstrates initiative, able to make quick, informed decisions and enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Committed to collaborating with and leading people
  • Proficient in computerized technologies
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule as needed, available for occasional travel, open to temporary assignment at another site
  • Open to relocation at the end of the program
  • Previous manufacturing experience is helpful
  • Able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time and to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs
