SUMMARY OF THE FUNCTION

Under the responsibility of the Financial Controller, the Assistant Financial Controller will support the team in all tasks related to accounting operations.  The Assistant Financial Controller will be in support mode on certain tasks and will have his own projects and analyses to coordinate. As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will be responsible for: RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform month-end and year-end activities: accounting and reconciliation of accounts for Canadian, U.S. and a company in the United Kingdom.
  • Perform various tasks related to the processing of cash, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and taxes.
  • Prepare Canadian and foreign sales tax reports.
  • Collaborate on year-end files and assist with tax audits.
  • Prepare documents related to insurance files.
  • Prepare grant application documents as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare banking transactions.
  • Assist in the improvement of internal controls.
  • Perform any other related tasks.
 SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, the CPA designation is an asset.
  • Have if possible 1 to 2 years of experience in similar functions.
  • Proficient in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of SAP software (an asset).
  • Fluency with computer tools.
  • Someone who thrives on challenges and can work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Person who has a very good analytical sense.
  • Curious person with a taste for learning.
  • Autonomous, discreet and meticulous person.
  • Be recognized for your team spirit.
